CBL operates its underground mine, Mina da Cachoeira, where litiniferous pegmatites containing lithium mineral spodumene are mined. The spodumene concentrate is used to produce our own lithium compounds.
The pegmatites containing spodumene are mined with method sublevel stopping, under very stringent quality and safety standards, including the use of remote control loaders and drilling Jumbos, mining sequencing software and rigorous geo-mechanical control of mining fronts
Currently, the galleries in Mina da Cachoeira are up to 180 m deep and up to 5 km long.
The dressing plant is fed with litiniferous pegmatite, that goes through crushing and sieving, then treated at the Dense Media Separation. The resulting spodumene concentrate is the final product of Mina da Cachoeira.
Reserves: 3.4 M ton
