Lithium in electric mobility

Electric mobility, also known as vehicle electrification, is the replacement of fossil fuel vehicles with electric vehicles. Its main importance lies in reducing CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions into the atmosphere.

As the production of electric cars soars year after year, so does the demand for lithium. Lithium is an essential input for the manufacture of lithium-ion batteries and stands out from other metals due to its unique characteristics: high electrochemical potential, low density, and the ability to store large amounts of energy in small volumes.
